Kitten drownings subject of Humane Society investigation
The Humane Society of Huron Valley is investigating kitten drownings in Ypsilanti Township, executive director Tanya Hilgendorf confirmed today.
WXYZ reported the kittens were drowned June 1 in a tub of water in the Lakeview Mobile Home Park .
A Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department deputy - who saw the kittens being buried - said the owner said the mother cat had put them in a tub of leftover bath water, WXYZ said.
The mother cat, Cricket, is in the custody of the humane society, the TV station said.

I hope I never see anyone injure a cat, kitten (or dog). I wouldn't have a problem showing my face, and would report it like NOW!

You can have a cat spayed by Cat Snips for $15.00. Whoever did this should be hung by their parts. What an in humane thing to do.

Of course, she should have been spayed. But anyone who thinks a mother cat would drown or otherwise harm her kittens has never had a mother cat around.

This guy's identity is hardly concealed from those who actually matter (like the people who know him and his clothing, watch, hand movements while talking, etc.) Poor guy asked that his face wouldn't be shown because he didn't want to be identified!

How come one person gets this kind of attension but PETA's actions, which are much worse, do not???

peta gets plenty of negative attention and they are a bane to real animal welfare activists. what gets most of us is that people like this get attention while the animal ag industry gets protected for literally torturing countless animals.

1. The neighbor gave the mother cat to a guy who was "drunk 24/7"? 2. The mother did not drown the kittens, we all know this 3. Why wasn't the mother spayed? If you can not afford to spay or neuter your pet, you can not afford to have them period.

I find it hard to believe that a mother cat would not know better than to put kittens in a tub with water, cat's aren't that stupid. Another thought...seriously, I would love to proofread articles for AA.com for a reasonable pay rate.

Yeah, right, on the momma cat putting her kittens in there. I grew up in the 60's, 70s, and can tell stories about friends who had parents that did the same thing. I think would think about that now and then, telling myself no one could get away with that this day and age...and I hope this person doesn't.

I am not familiar with a scenario of a mother putting her kittens in a bathtub with water or any water. Is this something mother cats are known to do?
