The Leslie Science and Nature Center hosted the 2013 Earth Day Festival on Sunday. About 40 local nonprofit environmental organizations and agencies participated by providing educational material, hands-on experiments, and assistance in creating toys and costumes.
All patrons were encouraged to visit each tent to learn and play. The Leslie staff also offered live animal demonstrations and a parade celebrating anybody who dressed in animal atire. A number of musical groups performed as well.
