Incorrect memory card causes ballot problems in Manchester Township

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Officials in Manchester Township used the wrong memory card during election ballot processing Tuesday, potentially putting the numbers per candidate as much as 10 percent below actual totals, according to Washtenaw County Clerk and Register of Deeds Larry Kestenbaum.

All of Manchester's ballots will have to be re-run through the tabulation machine on Wednesday with the correct memory card. The new results will then be posted on the county's website.

During a live chat with AnnArbor.com late Tuesday night, Kestenbaum said the bad memory card misread certain legitimate votes as overvotes.
