'Ink-like' substance affects travel for motorists on Canton Center Road

By John Counts

Motorists were advised to avoid Canton Center Road in Canton Township until at least 6 p.m. Tuesday as crews worked to clean up spillage from a shipping truck.

A dispatcher with Canton police said a spill of an "ink-like" substance about 4:45 p.m. had the southbound lanes closed between Cherry Hill and Ford roads. There was only one northbound lane open.

There was no accident reported with the spill. The material was not being treated as hazardous.
