Jewelry, flat-screen TV stolen after rock was thrown through front door window

By Cole Bertsos

A flat-screen TV and an undetermined amount of jewelry was stolen during a home invasion on Feb. 19 on the 500 block of East Northfield Church Road, in Northfield Township.

The Northfield Township Police Department issued a Nixle alert Friday night saying the unknown suspect gained entry to the home after throwing a rock through the front door window between 1 and 3 p.m.

The alert said the neighbor of the victim reported seeing a white minivan leaving the home around the time of the incident. The van's make, model and year are unknown, as was the driver, who the neighbor described as having dark hair.

There are no suspects at this time and the police continue to investigate.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).
