Laptop stolen from Eastern Michigan University dorm room

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Someone entered an Eastern Michigan University student’s Phelps Hall dorm room this afternoon and stole his laptop, according to an e-mail alert issued by EMU’s Department of Public Safety.

Sometime between 1:30 and 2 p.m. today, the Phelps Hall resident left his dorm room unlocked while he was in the restroom, according to the report. He heard someone in his room, but thought it was his roommate. He then left for class, and when he returned, his laptop was missing.

The student did not see anyone entering or leaving the room, and could not provide a description of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Department of Public Safety at (734) 487-1222 or at the anonymous Tip Line at (734) 487-4TIP (734) 487-4847.
