A 26-year-old man was arraigned today on several charges in connection with a series of car break-ins in Ann Arbor early Monday.

Fragel was arrested after a short foot chase early Monday. Police were called to Forest Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. after someone heard glass breaking, and officers chased Fragel after he ran from the area, reports said.

Police said Fragel had property from several vehicles in his possession.

Fragel is being held on bond totaling $50,500 cash surety, jail officials said. He will appear for a preliminary hearing May 5.

State prison records show Fragel has multiple convictions, including those for car break-ins, attempted resisting police, drunken driving and drug possession. Those crimes occurred between 2006 and 2007 in Wayne and Saginaw counties, records show.
