Man accused of making bomb threat during bank robbery in Augusta Township remains jailed
A man accused of making a bomb threat during a bank robbery Friday in Augusta Township remains jailed on a $150,000 cash or surety bond, Washtenaw County Jail officials said this afternoon.
William Anthony Eddy, 44, of Willis, is charged with bank robbery and false report of a bomb, county court records show.
He was arraigned Sunday.
County sheriff’s deputies said wore Eddy wore a mask and pulled up to a drive-thru about 2:05 p.m. Friday at Key Bank on Willis Road, where there was a transfer tube.

Eddy is accused of passing a note, indicating a bomb would blow up, and innocent people would be killed if a teller didn't hand over money, sheriff’s department spokesman Derrick Jackson said. The teller put an undisclosed amount of money in the tube, Jackson said.
After Eddy drove away, bank employees called 911, Jackson said, and dispatchers put out a description of Eddy's vehicle. Within minutes of the robbery, Deputy Doug McMullen saw the vehicle merge onto US-23 north and pulled it over, Michigan State Police Sgt. Chris Pascoe said.
A police dog was brought to check for explosives in the vehicle, but none was found, Pascoe said. Eddy did not have any weapons, Pascoe said.
Troopers have recovered all of the stolen cash, Pascoe said, along with the mask believed to have been worn during the robbery and the note Eddy allegedly passed.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 11.
