Man arrested after attempted break-in

By Erica Hobbs

A man is in custody at the Washtenaw County Jail after allegedly trying to break into a home in Ypsilanti.

Ypsilanti Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Madison around 5 a.m. Saturday morning, after the resident’s home alarm went off.

Police said the woman hid in her closet and called the police after someone attempted to break into her home. The intruder first tried to open a sliding glass door before breaking a vent cover of a basement window, a police report said.

Police found a suspect crouching behind the house and caught him several houses away after a foot chase.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned Sunday morning.

been hearing of a lot of break ins lately, my neighbor across the street said some people while trying to get in her back door but her husband was home and ran em off. It's starting to get crazy around here.
