Man arrested for assault on police officer outside Ann Arbor bar
A man was arrested in Ann Arbor around 8 p.m. Wednesday after police say he assaulted an officer responding to a call outside the Blue Leprechaun on South University Avenue.
Officers say they arrived outside the establishment to find the man agitated and intoxicated. His lips were bloody, and he had a number of abrasions on his face, reports said.
He told them a bouncer named "Sean" punched him in the face after he tried to get in the bathroom and was turned back, reports said.
As officers continued to question the man, he became uncooperative and said he "wanted justice," reports said. He swore at the officer and tried to push his way past, knocking the officer's glasses off his face, reports said.
He was arrested for disorderly conduct, as well as assault.

Stupid Hick - yes I have the same vibe in the crime section today. Really though, I have to imagine the crime rate is virtually a wash across both areas. Maybe slightly different offenses, though a wash on overall crime rate. And to the folks thinking the AAPD is in on suppressing reporting - give me a break. They aren't the A2 PR department - they serve and protect and the facts are the facts.

Stupid Hick - I'd bet A2.com didn't receive the information for these stories until today. If it were because of some outlash about over-reporting Ypsi crime, you would have seen them start months ago or longer when it started to become a common complaint. The AAPD is slower or more reluctant to release information than the YPD.

A patron allegedly drunk on St. Patty's day? Outside a bar called the Blue Leprechaun? Boggles the mind....

Drunks on South University? Really? Blue Leprechaun? A horrible name for a 'get-drunk' establishment.

I notice there are several stories today about crime in Ann Arbor, but none about Ypsilanti. Is this a reaction to reader complaints that the site over-reports crime in Ypsi and under-reports crime in A2?
