A man grew outraged and began damaging property at the Fleetwood Diner in Ann Arbor around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, police said.

According to Ann Arbor police records, a waitress reported a man and a woman entered the diner with a "chip on their shoulders."

They argued over whether a burger came with fries and then insulted the cook.

The cook returned an insult, which led the man to become angry, reports said.

The female appeared to try to calm the man down. But he reportedly pushed an order that included eight plates with food off the counter, breaking the plates, reports said. He also threw a stool at the grill, which did not appear to cause damage.

The man and woman left, and police were unable to locate them, reports said.
