A man who robbed an Ann Arbor bank Monday was found drunk and passed out in a pick-up truck hours later in Pittsfield Township, authorities said.

The 40-year-old Ann Arbor man is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, Ann Arbor police Det. Sgt. Brian Jatczak said.

A Pittsfield Township police officer found the man about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Crane Road and West Michigan Avenue, Pittsfield police Lt. Stephen Heller said.

The officer responded to a report of a man sleeping in a truck and saw open liquor bottles in the vehicle, Heller said.

"The officer had a hard time waking him up," Heller said.

The man matched the description of a man who robbed a Chase bank branch at West Stadium Boulevard in Ann Arbor about 4 p.m., Heller said. Some license plate information also matched, Heller said.

Police detained the man until Ann Arbor police arrived and took him into custody.

The man is accused of walking into the bank and demanding money from a teller. He made off with an undisclosed amount, but the money has been recovered, Jatczak said.
