A Maybee man is in critical condition after an ATV accident Sunday night in Augusta Township, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

The 32-year-old man was trailing two other riders on ATVs on Tuttle Hill Road, and those riders slowed as they attempted to avoid a dog at about 5 p.m., a sheriff's department incident summary said.

The man's ATV struck the back of the second ATV in the road's 12000 block. The vehicle overturned, and he was thrown from it, according to the summary.

The man was airlifted to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. His name has not been released.
