Witnessing this individual trying to manuver his wheel chair many times in the past in the general vacinity It doesn't surprise me he was hit, this general area is very congested and not very pedestrian friendly, the road is narrow and the traffic exiting and entering from the Athletic Club makes it difficult for drivers to get a good look at that intersection espcially around that time of day. I hope he makes a fast recovery from his injuries.

Yesterday at approx 4pm my wife and I were going west on Liberty ready to turn right on Maple when a man in a wheelchair going south on the sidewalk on Maple approached the crosswalk at Liberty and I made the comment to my wife is he going to stop? ( I had a green light) Sounds like it might be the same person.

Last week a pedestrian was hit by a bus, this week a person in a wheel chair is hit! Wow! Maybee the law empowering everyone with the right of way, instead gave all pedestrians, bikers and others the idea they are invinsible! Perhaps people should pay attention to the traffic! Yes, drivers should yield, but, they don't always see the pedestrian. Start ticketing bikes and JAY WALKERS and then the drivers also need to pay attention! NO CELL PHONES! I am a professional driver and see the lack of attention by drivers and peds daily. It is a wonder more aren't hit and more accidents caused due to cell phoneuse and lack of attention.

So What? Is there anymore to this story? Does this poor guy who was hit being charged with running the cross walk with his able vehicle? Is he a pedestrian if he is in a wheel chair? Is there more to this then 2 or three sentences? Please tell!

At risk of sounding like a bonehead, what does it mean to cross against a crosswalk?

I believe going against the crosswalk, is crossing when it says don't walk.
