One man was killed and another man was injured in a traffic accident involving three vehicles on the city's west side Thursday evening, according to the Ann Arbor Fire Department.

Battalion Chief Robert Vogel said firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at Dexter Avenue and North Maple Road about 7:30 p.m. and found a man was pinned in one of the vehicles and not breathing.

Vogel said firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the man from the vehicle, but he was declared dead at the scene.

Huron Valley Ambulance transported another man to the University of Michigan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Vogel said.

The accident remains under investigation and additional information was not available on Thursday evening.
