Motorcyclist killed in crash; Ford Road in Superior Township blocked for investigation

By Heidi Fenton

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies are blocking off a portion of Ford Road in Superior Township after a man was killed in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night, authorities said.

Superior Township Fire Captain Ronald Smith said a call came in reporting the accident at about 6:17 p.m.

The male driver, who was riding alone, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after police and fire crews arrived, Smith said.

The damaged motorcycle was found in a yard in the 6000 block of Ford Road.

The Superior Township Fire Department and Huron Valley Ambulance responded and have left the scene, but a Washtenaw Sheriff’s Department investigation continues.

A sheriff’s office dispatcher said Ford Road is blocked off between Plymouth Road and Andora Drive.

Smith said the area is a straight stretch of road and was unsure what may have caused the single-vehicle accident.

The motorcyclist will be terribly missed. Can't believe some people are leaving such foolish comments. I care what happened but I care more about the fact that I will never be able to hang out with my friend ever again. Please have a heart when you are leaving comments.

acd5835 thanks...your early information seems to be pretty accurate. I have heard the emergency response time was remarkably fast. I just wish commenters would wait, in respect of the deceased/family to make opinionated comments. We should all reserve our thoughts until the police investigation is completed, hence A@.com will publish the findings.

Sorry my post was unclear, I am not with Superior FD. Rather, I am with Ann Arbor Township FD.

Can we please stop the finger pointing and remember that someone has lost their life and right now that is all we know. Let's keep this person's loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
