Man on Washtenaw County's 'Most Wanted' list arrested in Superior Township

By Heidi Fenton

A traffic stop in Superior Township on Friday ended with police taking a man on Washtenaw County’s “Most Wanted” list into custody.

Two Washtenaw County sheriff’s deputies made the stop in the Sycamore Meadows apartment complex around noon. The suspect, whose name is being withheld by AnnArbor.com pending his court arraignment, fled from his vehicle on foot and was taken into custody after a short chase.

Authorities sought the man in connection with a March home invasion in the 100 block of Riley Court in Ypsilanti Township.

Police said the man and an accomplice forced their way into the home and hit the resident with a gun that then discharged. The pair fled with cash.

The man was involved in another home invasion in January, police said, and is expected to be charged with attempted murder, felonious assault and armed robbery.

Distinguishable tattoos on both of his arms helped deputies to identify him.

Lucky for him, he isn't the duckling slayer. They plastered that guy's name anywhere they could fit it.

Throwing in my voice to join the chorus: not naming one of Washtenaw's most wanted is just ridiculous.

I am wondering why, when I checked the link provided for the most wanted by Craig there were only 4 people listed. I would think there should be more. The newest people on the sex attacks aren't there but pictures of the bank robbers are. Since they don't seem to need to identify people, why aren't the sex offenders "drawings" the police have on there?

Where on the Most Wanted List are all the medical marijuana addicts and aggressive panhandlers I read so much about in annarbor.com?

I didn't even know there was a Washtenaw Most Wanted list, but now that I realize it is so special it is anonymous (sorta like Skull and Bones and the CIA, I guess) I can understand why I didn't know about it. You probably have to wait to get invited, like the Masons or the Knights of Columbus. I can only presume that all the adult supervision at aa.com is at home on the weekends. A most wanted suspect arrested and your "news judgement" says not to name him? I sense another appearance on Saturday Night Live ahead for annarbor.com

Tonight on Washtenaw's Most Wanted: We will not reveal the identity of Washtenaw's Most Wanted. Also, we'll have in-depth coverage of Lewis the MIssing Cat. Hide your kids. Hide your wives. Hide your cat.

when I was growing up in the 60's in AA it was legitimate for the authorities to name an offender and enlist the publics help in apprehending the culprit. I suspect that in this day and age a criminal enjoys the same equal rights as an innocent person to conceal their idenity, however when a person makes the most wanted list that person has committed an act that has endangered innocent people and a published name and picture of the individual should be made public to enlist aid in the their capture. Maybe the second home invasion wouldn't have happened and another family would have been saved from being terrorized. Kudo's to the police, wish we could have helped make your job easier by pointing the whereabouts of the person out in advance.

Yep, I don't understand this blog..this newsarticle is pointless without names or even a link on where to find the most wanted...plus how does related content get picked. Over to the left are the related content articles and the first article is about Rutherford Pool raising more cash. I get that the crimes in the article took place in Ypsi (even though the man was picked up in Superior Township and according to other commenters was from Ann Arbor) and the Rutherford Pool is in Ypsi, but other than location of the pool and the location of the crime, the content has nothing to do with each other. If it's all about location, wouldn't the related content be about Superior Township?

I see AnnArbor.com removed the one blog that told the story of this young man's life. Not interested in the whole story I guess. Or is it because the blogger mentioned that this kid was born and raised most of his life in ANN ARBOR????

I also had the pleasure of teaching Troy and his younger brother. Troy was an outstanding student and full of life. He had an infectious smile that would brighten your day, always a gleam in his eye. That is not the face I see any longer. We are losing our young men at a rapid rate. Teachers can only do so much. Parents, we need you! This young man is an example of what happens when mothers and fathers don't do their job! He deserved better.

Dear Criminals: Keep getting tattoos. It helps the police in identifying you when they catch you. Thanks, The law abiding public

Heidi; Maybe you can tell us what AA.coms policy is on naming names. It seems pretty random to me (or maybe not, with "not random", really not a compliment.)?

If you are not willing to identify somebody on the 'Most Wanted' list, why would you even bother running the story. That is asinine.

I agree. Was very surprised to see that and do not understand why they won't print the name. Arraignment changes nothing. A policy that requires arraignment in order to release the name just shows lack of knowledge in the system. I could see waiting until a warrant is issued, that means PC exists at the police, prosecutor and judicial level. Journalism is dead.

He's on the most wanted list but you won't name him? So we can go to the most wanted list and guess? Because there is 4 guys on the list and one of them is marked as captured. That guy has distinctive tattoos on both arms too. http://www.ewashtenaw.org/government/sheriff/community/most-wanted/washtenaw-county-most-wanted

I can understand withholding information sometimes (for a clear purpose or reason) but jeez AA.com. What purpose does this policy of yours serve here?

I concur. Any idea where that Junbe 16, 2001 stabbing following a pool game took place? Trying to jog my memory on that one, can't come up with it.
