A road rage incident escalated into a head-butting at the Shell station in Northfield Township Saturday, the township police department said today.

The victim told police the traffic altercation occurred as he and another man were pulling their vehicles into the gas station on North Territorial Road.

The victim told police the other driver confronted him, leading to an argument. That driver then head-butted the victim, knocking him down, reports said.

Police have identified the suspect, and the case was submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office for possible assault charges.
