Masked gunmen rob Ann Arbor bank this morning
Two masked men armed with handguns robbed a Bank of America branch on Ann Arbor's south side this morning, Ann Arbor police said.
Police are now offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the robbers. Authorities also released surveillance photos of the men.
The men entered the bank at 3201 E. Eisenhower Blvd. at 9:34 a.m. while tellers and one customer were inside, police said.
After robbing the bank of a large sum of money - the exact amount was not disclosed - the men ran across Eisenhower Parkway, police said. A tracking dog searched the area.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police advised the Jewish Community Center of Washtenaw County on Birch Hollow Road to lock down; the center houses a daycare. The lockdown was lifted, Lt. Renee Bush said.
The men were described as black and in their mid-20s. One was 5 feet 7 inches tall and was wearing a white hoodie and mask; the second was wearing a dark hoodie and a mask. No other information was available.

Do you think the color of the skin of the bank robbers was from an analysis of the security camera footage or interviews of those at the crime scene? As well I think the pics from the camera are of a decent quality. A movie camera is not going to give you the same quality as a "still shot" as would a photo camera. Also the image is diluted for the purposes of putting it on the web so the images the police have I'm sure are of a much better quality. The conversation should be more about the desperate situation the state of Michigan is in and how serious crime is more likely to increase and spread out because of it. Young men aiming pistols at employees heads at 9:30AM does not seem to be a spontaneous act. As well what are the various Government agencies going to do - what are their options - at a time when their revenue streams are dried up and laying off key personel is a reality? I'm not sure what the answers are but I'm sure glad the Federal Government helped stem some of the layoffs that were sure to occur without the funds.

This is why banks should invest in higher-quality surveillance equipment. Witnesses said that the robbers were black, but Mr. Smurf doesn't look it from the picture. Hope they catch these guys...I live near the Jewish Community Center. But the police didn't advise me to lock-down.

we might not be able to disearn from the photos posted that they are black, HOWEVER there were witnesses to the crime, at the bank. I am sure if the police say they are black it is because the person or persons who were within feet of the robbers said they were black. Additionally, if multiple witness agreed, then there you go. I agree, looks young and that is a smurf. Probably from a pillow case, used last saturday to collect halloween candy in. pretty stupid to use the smurf anyway, someone will remember that thing.

did they look down Hikone for the suspects? I am sure many people on that street fit the "profile's"...I would look there instead of warning the JCC to lock down! As someone who has a child in day care at the JCC I'm personally glad that the cops took the "conservative" approach to warn a local school that armed gunman were on the loose a few blocks away and heading in the direction of the school. Just saying...
