Wonderful news from the Milan Bakery's Facebook Page: "Hear ye, Hear ye, To all those donut lovers out there, The Milan Bakery will be re-opening Tuesday October 2 @ 5:30 a.m......We've headed back to the drawing board to re-evaluate some things and come up with better ideas that we feel will help us along the way. We cannot be more thankful for a world of support from our community as well as admirers from afar. We certainly look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday. Thanks to all of our employees who continue to work hard to make this bakery such a great place. You guys are amazing! Here's to Tuesday! Hope to see you then! Michele, Jamey & our amazing staff"

This seems to be a new trend in small town bakeries. maybe they are getting tired of a lot of retired people who come in every morning buy one doughnut one coffee, get lots of refills, and stay for about 3 hours, and shoot the (gab) it gets old for bakery owners who are spending their mornings refilling those cups. but it serves a purpose for the retireries they need that outing every morning to keep their sanity .Iam sorry to hear this but I also know small businesses are struggling.

Sign of the times my friend. Sign of the times. Everyone I know is closing their doors to large mega stores because they cannot keep up with the mega competition. Look at what has happened to Ypsilanti. Most of our small business owners are still struggling if not closed their doors for good.
