Mostly sunny skies will follow morning thunderstorms in Ann Arbor area

By Cindy Heflin

A line of thunderstorms over the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti areas this morning should move out of Washtenaw County by about 8 a.m., the National Weather Service said, but a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will remain throughout the day.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms could pop up, particularly this afternoon, said National Weather Service meteorologist Amos Dodson, but the chance of such storms is only about 20 percent.

For the rest of the day, the forecast calls for partly sunny skies this morning and mostly sunny conditions this afternoon with a high temperature of 80 to 84 degrees. More sunny weather is on tap for Friday.

And the sunny skies will be followed by a period of darkness.

This mornings storm was not predicted by the weather people last night yet we are suppose to believe that they can predict the weather & temperature out 100 years or more? :)

You're confusing weather with climate. It's okay; rookie mistake.

This morning as the storm was approaching I saw a young man standing under a tree waiting for a bus. I know he didn't want to get wet but...

I almost got caught in these storms on my morning run. Jim Madaus didn't predict this on his 11:00pm forecast! I was running like a madman down Stadium trying to stay ahead of the fast approaching lightening bolts. I think I got a personal best for my 10K, too bad it won't be official.
