The closures, which are for scheduled maintenance work according to the Michigan Department of Transportation website, will go into effect 8 p.m. Friday and will end at 5 a.m. Sunday. While it may not cause too much consternation for local drivers, Interstate 94 between Ann Arbor-Saline Road and M-14 will be down to one lane in each direction Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday. According to MDOT, the lane closures are for catch basin clearing and will be in effect for just 12 hours, from 8 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.

Hopefully, motorists on eastbound I-94 will easily see that one lane of it is open as they approach the M-14------I-94 split, in time to change lanes for taking M-14 instead, if they wish. I can see them opting to stay on I-94 if they wish to exit onto Jackson Road.

I realize that much of Ann Arbor thinks that Detroit starts east of Carpenter road, but you could have at least double checked the spelling of the street. It's "Ecorse", not "Ecourse".
