National Weather Service issues heat advisory for Ann Arbor area

By Cindy Heflin

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Ann Arbor area through midnight Wednesday night.

The weather service said temperatures will rise to the low to mid 90s today and Wednesday, with heat index values ranging from 95 to 100 today and 93 to 98 Wednesday. Lows dropping only into the 70s overnight will provide little relief, the weather service said.

The pool would be a good place to cope with the heat today.

Strenuous outdoor activity could lead to heat injuries such as heat stroke, heat exhaustion or heat cramps, the weather service said. Those prone to heat stress should take precautions.

The weather service advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned areas, avoid the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.

Temperatures will moderate Thursday, with highs in the 80s.

Ah thanks! I was really wondering what anyone could have possibly said about the weather that was so bad. :)

How come this article says that there are 9 comments but only 3 are showing up? Surely there could not have been six comments on an article about the weather that violated the commenting guidelines? It is hot outside. Shew we!

You delete practically anything people post that isn't saccharine or in line with your narrow political views, and this piece of insipid junk is left up here for several hours? If a god is in control, he is not a particularly intelligent god.
