No more weekend lane closures on U.S. 23; MDOT suspends most roadwork for holiday
The Michigan Department of Transportation still has some work to do on a stretch of U.S. 23 being repaved on the east side of Ann Arbor, but the good news is that there will be no more weekend lane closures, a spokeswoman said.
MDOT had implemented single-lane closures on the highway during several weekends this spring.
Meanwhile, in other good news for motorists, MDOT said it is suspending work on most construction projects, including the U.S. 23 project, for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
MDOT is lifting traffic restrictions on 94 of 132 projects statewide during the weekend, the agency said in a press release. The restrictions are lifted until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
For a list of projects with ongoing work over the weekend, visit MDOT’s website.

There are signs laying along Plymouth Rd in Dixboro that say US 23 on them, implying that at some point the M14 / US 23 traffic will go from M14 along Plymouth Rd to US 23, cutting the corner. Even if at night, this will dramatically increase local traffic on Plymouth Rd, which is a single lane until it hits Dixboro. Any info on this?
