Northfield Township plans township-wide limestone and ditching projects
Northfield Township residents will see township-wide dust control, ditching and limestone on their roads as well as participation in a small shared project on Maple Road with Webster Township during this construction season.
The cost-share project with Webster Township for Maple Road will take place south of Joy Road and includes ditching, tree removal, the addition of 45 tons of limestone and reshaping of the road for a total cost of $300, half the total project cost.
Webster Township has already approved this year’s road work contract with the Road Commission and approved its half of the total Maple Road project cost.
Township-wide ditching projects will cost $51,000, while township-wide limestone applications will cost $58,000. Dust control will cost about $36,000.
In total, Northfield Township will see about $145,600 in road work and pay about $73,000 when matching costs are applied.
