Northfield Township police investigate burglary, car theft

Northfield Township police are investigating a break-in, an attempted break-in and a car theft that occurred recently, township police said today.

The burglary occurred July 16 in the 2000 block of Five Mile Road. Police said someone kicked in the side door of his garage and stole items that were stored there.

The attempted break-in occurred July 12 at a home in the 3000 block of Joy Road. A resident told police when he arrived home from work, he discovered the storm door had been kicked in. Entry to the interior of the home wasn't gained.

A car was stolen July 19 from the 400 block of Westbrook. The owner reported his vehicle was stolen from the carport at Westbrook Apartments sometime overnight. The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in Brighton.

Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call township police at 734-449-8900.
