Voters in Northfield Township narrowly approved two millage proposals to renew funding for fire, police and rescue services on Tuesday, but voted down a third for additional police revenue.

The first proposal was to renew a millage supporting fire and medical rescue services for three years. The renewal will tax residents 1.9240 mills. In its first year, the levy is expected to generate $634,202. It was approved by a slim margin, with 684 yes votes and 657 no votes.

The second ballot question was to renew a 1-mill levy for five years for police protection. In its first year, the millage is expected to generate $329,626. It passed with 678 yes votes and 664 no votes.

The third proposal, also a millage renewal question for police protection, asked voters for 1.5 mills for five years, to raise $494,440 in its first year. That was defeated with 753 no votes and 581 yes votes.
