One person was stabbed and another was shot outside an Ypsilanti home early this morning, city police said.

Investigators are still piecing together what occurred at the home in the 800 block of Young Street, Police Chief Amy Walker said.

Officers were called to a disturbance at the home around 4:30 a.m. and discovered one person with a stab wound and one person with a gunshot wound in the front yard of the home, Walker said. It's not yet clear whether they were involved in an altercation with each other or someone else, she said.

Both people were in stable condition at the hospital at 11:15 a.m., police said. The injuries and a language barrier have prevented police from getting much information thus far, Walker said.

Walker said the county's SWAT team was called out this morning to execute a search warrant at the home to determine who was inside since no one answered the door.

"It was done as a precaution because we didn't know who was still there," Walker said. "It appears there was a party or a gathering at the house - we're still sorting it out."

Four people came out of the home on their own, Walker said. When SWAT members entered, no one else was left inside the home, she said.

No one is currently under arrest, but detectives are interviewing people who were at the home, Walker said.
