Do you think the Ann Arbor airport should expand?
By Stefanie Murray
Government reporter Ryan Stanton's story on whether the Ann Arbor airport should expand elicited quite a bit of discussion over the weekend on AnnArbor.com.

Not enough choices on the poll, what is the margin of error?

Again, the use of a faulty logic argument: you moved there, so you can't complain of an expansion (i.e., NIMBY). That argument is a red herring and doesn't even remotely apply, unless of course you agree that because there was a building and a road next to your house when you bought it, you have no grounds to argue against a new skyscraper and multi-lane expressway. Please.

I believe that we should allow for the upgrade and expansion based solely on the fact that State Street needs to be widened. They cannot fix that horrendous bottleneck until the airport moves the runway. As for the people that bought a house near the airport not wanting this to happen, the airport was there first. It is already a statically unsafe place to live because of the airport. Airplanes generally crash with landings or takeoffs, it comes with the territory. Please don't hold the rest of us hostage based on your decision to buy a house near an airport.
