Ypsilanti Mayor Paul Schreiber is a consensus builder who deserves reelection
I am writing in support of Paul Schreiber’s mayoral candidacy in Ypsilanti. Ypsilanti has done well under Paul’s consensus-building leadership. He has helped to bring about a renaissance of small business, arts, and entertainment in downtown. Our town is truly becoming a destination for those who live in surrounding areas, many of whom express surprise that Ypsilanti is such a vibrant community.
I lived in Ypsilanti while my children were growing up, then moved to Ann Arbor for a few years. I followed Ypsilanti’s progress during those years and increasingly wanted to move back. The blossoming in downtown and the general vibrancy of the city were among the reasons I recently returned. I have a small law office in downtown Ypsilanti and live in Normal Park.
Since moving back, I find that I can often bike to work and take care of most errands on my bike on the way home much easier than when I lived in Ann Arbor. I find it easy and enjoyable to live in Ypsilanti and I think Paul’s leadership has had a lot to do with that.
With Paul, “what you see is what you get.” He is true to his word and transparent about his goals and methods. I have already gotten to know him and feel that I can trust his judgment. There has been no disconnect between his stated values and his actions. Ypsilanti is fortunate to have such an outstanding mayor. We should support him on Aug. 3.
