This is very good news. A senate race between Sen. Stabenow and Mr. Hoekstra will give voters a clear difference bewteen two views of government's role in our society. Sen. Stabenow has blindly marched in lock step with Pres. Obama's view that the Federal government has unlimited power (Obamacare is a perfect example). Mr. Hoekstra believes in limited government as spelled out in the Constitution. Voters will have a choice. Do we want a government that assumes control of our most basic life decision, like our health care and what kind of light bulbs we can buy, or do we want the liberty to run our own lives with the responsibilities and rewards that it entails.

Debbie Stabenow drove all the pharmaceutical jobs out of Michigan with her idiotic buses to Canada. Thousands of high paying jobs in a lucrative sector with a high job multiplier are gone. They will never return. And it is because of her. Good riddance to Stabenow.

I've contacted Senator Stabenow numerous times since Obama took office. Starting with his insistance that "Health Care" be passed within 30 some days after he took office. Then sending an almost 30,000 page bill to congress to digest in such that short period of time. Who could have read and understood all the nuisances, and to refere to such and such paragraph here and such such sub paragraph there I guess Senator Stabenow could because when I would contact her on the "Health Care Package" she would always say we have to have it. The messiah Obama knows everything therefore listen to him. I have to vote to pass his plan. Or, at other times all I could get from her on important issues was double talk from both sides of her mouth. Therefore, I feel Senator Stabenow is nothing more than an Obama yes senator no matter the issue right or wrong. She's continued to follow him lock step into turning our country in a debtor nation. I think it's time Senator Stabnow gets the boot. Just as her idol Obama will in 2012.

I don't like Stabenow, but Hoekstra has been a joke in congress. Especially his poor work on the intelligence committee. He has zero respect for personal privacy, and the constitution. He never met a right he didn't want to violate.

A Hoekstra win would reduce Senator Levin to one vote.

*STALKER ALERT* Ann Arbor residents should be on the lookout for out of state crackpots trying to get their lobbiest the authority of a US Senator. If one confronts you, immediately call them definitional sedition and ask them if the have realized lately how embarrassed their teachers are with what they are doing. This alert remains in effect until November 3rd, 2012, or until a law abiding challenger emerges to win the counter-republican nomination for 2012 Senate election.

Thanks for the insider information, but that is common knowledge since the purely partisan US Supreme Count 5 concocted sua sponte OUT OF THIN AIR corporate constitutional rights in their unprecedented Citizens United v Federal Elections Commission holding. Good luck with the campaigns for Senate in your own state. Do you get back there, much?

Citizens for the Wealthy to Prosper on the Backs of the Poor and Middle Class will fund his campaign. The usual suspects will give him full support to make sure the rich get richer. No problem.

It would be irresponsible for me not to point y'all toward Hoekstra's infamous "Turtle Fence" speech and subsequent "Turtle Fence" song. Both of which can be found here: http://www.damnarbor.com/2011/07/in-which-rep-hoekstra-compares-health.html If Hoekstra is pro-turtle fence, I am pro-Hoekstra.

Excellent news for the fine citizens of the State of Michigan. How can I jump in and provide immediate assistance to Mr. Hoekstra?

SO the former head of the US House Intelligence Commitiee who snored while Bin Laden allegedly(winki-winki) "hid" out for 10 years and THEN within hours of the underpants bomber was in custody committed felony of 1) disclosing, ... no wait ..., grandstanding classified information to the media, 2) to ask for contributions to his since lambasted 2010 gubernatorial campaign, now wants back into the Capitol Hill trough. Sounds like the Distinguished Senator will have a smooth sail into re-election. That woould be good for MI. Maybe a law abiding opponent may emerge. Who knows?

"Over the last couple of years, the spending in Washington has spun out of control. Michigan needs a U.S. senator who will cut spending without raising taxes and help create jobs" Hey Pete! Where are the jobs from the Bush tax cuts?

Whats up, Chuck? He has been tied up with counter-republican hostage standoff trying to save the neck of the US Constitution at knife point. Some ch3eap shots are more putrid than others.

"Hey Pete! Where are the jobs from the Bush tax cuts?" Applications are being accepted at your local Koch industries outlet. Honorable references need not apply.

They were "saved" jobs, just like those "saved" by the Obama stimulus. You see however bad things got under Bush they would have been that much worse except for his tax cuts, so we should be thankful. Isn't this meaningless partisan banter useful. While we all engage in this our country is becoming a debt ridden banana republic like Argentina. Yeah, lets keep this up. Good day!

Imagine having a United States Senator from Michigan who does not support a $1.5 trillion Federal deficit and a 9% + Unemployment rate. Wouldn't that be novel.

This is great news! Pete Hoekstra has Ann Arbor ties as he received his MBA from the Universityof Michigan. He has a reputation of strong conservative credentials and can expect fervent backing from the Right-to-Life organization. He also served as chair of the House Intelligence Committee.

The faster Stabenow retires - or is replaced - the better off everyone in Michigan will be. She is a nice lady, but Dangerously Incompetent and everyone knows it. With unfunded liabilities of at or near 100 Trillion dollars hanging on the US Government - Debbie is just not the person to cast votes to fix that.

What are Senator Stabenow's legislative accomplishments? What has she done that justifies giving her another term in office?

Diagenes

Sat, Jul 23, 2011 : 2:12 p.m.

She voted for a bill that she did not know what was in it. After all Nancy Pelosi said we have to pass "health care" to know what's in it. Her biggest legislative accomplishment was to support a bill that strips every American of their individual liberty.

Her opponents are extremely dangerous to the republic and the once Great state of Michigan. You should book your first trip here. You would love it.

This extremist TeaPublican friend of Michelle Bachman will be no match for Sen Stabenow. If jobs are an issue we only need flashback to the wonderful record of the 8 yr Bush debacle! Just another proponent of the completely discredited "trickle down" mythology. Hopefully the Michigan voters will see through the smoke and mirrors.
