Pinball Pete's demolition to restrict traffic next week

By Erica Hobbs

Starting Saturday, traffic on South University Avenue will be restricted for the demolition of the former Pinball Pete’s building at 1217 S. University Avenue in Ann Arbor.

The building was destroyed by fire in October. Investigators deemed the blaze arson, and two men have since been charged.

The work will take place between Church Street and South Forest Avenue; it's expected to wrap up by Jan. 8.

Westbound traffic will be closed and detoured south at South Forest Avenue. Eastbound traffic will stay open.

Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the south sidewalk of South University Avenue.

Detour Route:
• Westbound traffic will be detoured south at South Forest Avenue, west at Willard Street, then north on Church Street back to South University Street.
