A Pittsfield Township apartment was damaged in a fire this evening, but firefighters were able to save two cats.
Firefighters say the fire broke out at about 6:12 p.m. at 3105 Woodland Hills Drive in the Evergreen apartment complex off Packard Road.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered the bedroom of a third-floor unit was on fire, a township press release said. They quickly extinguished the blaze.
No one was injured. Two cats in the apartment were rescued, the release said.
The apartment where the fire started had heavy smoke and water damage, the release said. The cause has not yet been determined.
