Pittsfield Township firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire Thursday evening in an apartment complex near I-94 and Michigan Avenue.

Commander Sean Gleason said the fire started on the stove about 7:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Swiss Stone Court. Damage was confined to the kitchen, and no one was injured he said.

The Washtenaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross provided food and lodging to two people temporarily displaced from the apartment, according to a press release.

A damage estimate was not available.
