Pittsfield Township police arrest man with heroin on his passenger seat

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Pittsfield Township police say a man who had 12 grams of heroin and $1,300 cash in his car ran from officers when he was approached in Evergreen Apartments.

Officers say the man appeared to be breaking into a car in the 3100 block of Woodland Hills Drive on Friday, so they approached him.

The man told officers the car was his, and police then noticed heroin on a plate and a scale in the passenger seat, reports said. The man ran from his car and was quickly caught and arrested, reports said.

Police obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and seized the suspected drugs and cash.

The 21-year-old Detroit man was lodged in the Washtenaw County Jail.

Thoughts to ponder for a moment....... From the article: "Officers say the man appeared to be breaking into a car in the 3100 block of Woodland Hills Drive on Friday, so they approached him." That is the nuts & bolts to this, right? Now, the 3100 block of Woodland Hills Dr is here: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=hoQ&rls=org.mozilla:en:official&q=3100%20block%20of%20Woodland%20Hills%20&psj=1&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl I am a loyal Police supporter as any of you know from my past posts. But come on.......The far reaches of the Twp and in an apartment complex? Either they were lucky as all get out and just happened to be "passing by" or this was stake-out and PTPD was called in. Just IMHO, there is more to this one. But Good Job & Good Riddance! Bon Appetit!

I'm sure it was all a HUGE misunderstanding. It was his friend's car--whose name he doesn't know. The heroin was planted by the police to ruin this young man's life, and he was running from the police because he feared he was going to be beaten. When are the police going to quit bothering innocent folks?
