By AnnArbor.com Staff

Pittsfield Township police officers interrupted a burglary in progress this morning after an alert citizen called to report it, township police said.

When officers arrived at 5:40 a.m., two men were burglarizing a business in the 4000 block of Packard Road, reports said.

Police said one man was arrested after briefly resisting, while the other man ran. Officers and a tracking dog searching the area spotted him several times, but they never got close enough to arrest him, reports said.

The man who remains at large was described as Hispanic and in his 20s. He was wearing a blue-gray T-shirt and blue jeans and was barefoot.

The man who was arrested was an 18-year-old Ann Arbor resident, reports said.

Anyone with information is asked to call township police at 734-944-4911.
