Pittsfield Township police arrest woman in possession of stolen property from antique store
Pittsfield Township police say they arrested a 44-year-old woman whose car was filled with stolen goods from two burglaries at Such A Find Antiques last week.
The business was burglarized two days in a row on Aug. 12 and 13. So detectives, figuring the thieves might return, set up surveillance near the shop in the 4000 block of Packard Road, Detective Lt. Sean McCormick said today.
Detectives developed information about a possible vehicle involved, and on Tuesday, they spotted the vehicle near the business, McCormick said. The driver was detained, and police found jewelry and boxes of items from the antique store in the car, he said.
The value of the items stolen in the break-ins was more than $5,000. McCormick said.
In the first break-in, police say the thieves removed a window air-conditioning unit to gain access and stole jewelry from a display case, along with other items. The next day, thieves entered through a different window and stole the remaining jewelry, three clocks and other items, reports said.
McCormick said police are working to identify others responsible for the break-ins.
Police are seeking charges of receiving and concealing stolen property against the woman.

Has anyone figured out the suspects identity? Could it be an illegal alien? Crack head? Some thing from another galaxy?

To quote Forrest Gump's momma...stupid is as stupid does...but not to worry, if convicted in Washtenaw County...most likely probation with community service...maybe sweeping the floors at Treasure Mart.

Headline is a little confusing. Reads like she was arrested because her property was stolen. Woman Arrested for Possessing Stolen Property maybe?

My hat is off to the PTPD's persistence and great reasoning skills that outfoxed the foxes. Looks like the chickens are safe tonight.

Nice work PTPD. Some thieves are not the brightest. Did this women think that no one noticed the previous incidents? Duh.
