Pittsfield Township police investigate 6 car break-ins
Pittsfield Township police say at least six cars were broken into last week, and three of those incidents occurred on Carpenter Road.
The thieves are targeting GPS units and other easily concealed valuables, police said.
The cases reported last week include:
- Sept. 21: 2300 block of Carpenter Road. A Garmin GPS Unit was stolen from a vehicle.
- Sept. 22: 5900 block of Plum Hollow Drive. The tires and rims were stolen from a 2007 Dodge Ram truck.
- Sept. 22: 3100 block of Randolph Court. An iPod and tools were stolen from a vehicle.
- Sept. 23: 2800 block of Dalton Road. A purse was stolen from a vehicle.
- Sept. 26: 3700 block of Carpenter Road. Personal items were stolen from a 1997 Ford Escort.
- Sept. 26: 2900 block of Carpenter Road. An iPod and Garmin GPS unit were stolen from a 2008 Dodge Nitro.
Police reminded people to remove valuables from their vehicles and always lock the doors. Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call township police at 734-944-4911.

Blah Blah Blah, idiots stealing from idiots. All but one of these thefts could have been prevented if people stopped leaving expensive junk in their cars. The wheels? Well you can't blame the victim for that one. Although they do make wheel locks...
