Pittsfield Township police are reminding people to keep their car doors locked and valuables out of plain view after a recent string of auto break-ins.
On Sunday, there were two incidents on Carpenter Road, Det. Lt. Sean McCormick said.
Someone smashed a passenger side window of a car parked outside Showcase Cinemas between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. and stole stereo equipment, McCormick said.
Between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., someone entered an unlocked car outside Red Robin and stole a purse and other items, McCormick said.
Also, between Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, four auto break-ins occurred in the Clubview subdivision near Maple and Ellsworth roads, McCormick said.
In those cases, people left cars unlocked in driveways, McCormick said. Items including Christmas presents, gift certificates and a GPS unit were stolen.
