Pittsfield Township seeks submissions for 'Green Pittsfield' logo

By Heather Lockwood

Pittsfield Township residents of all ages are encouraged to design a logo for consideration to use on the Green Pittsfield website.

Two logos will be selected — one from the adult category and one from the youth category, according to a Pittsfield news release.

Winners will have the opportunity to choose from various green prizes, such as home insulation, a professional home audit, a worm composting system, solar oven, solar attic fan, or educational kits that focus on renewable energy, according to the release. And all entrants will receive a certificate of participation.

"Being a green community goes beyond energy and water conservation by engaging the community and bringing people together," Supervisor Mandy Grewal said in the release. "There is a lot of talent in Pittsfield, and we are looking forward to seeing their entries.”

Had enough green. It's been beat into my head since I was little. The climate does what it does without any input from us. All we can do is cause some temporary alteration but we can't sustain it. So Pittsfield is green. Is that why they don't widen any roads causing miles-long traffic backups full of idling cars?
