Andrea Brown-Harrison wins Democratic nomination for Pittsfield Township trustee

Andrea Brown-Harrison decisively defeated Andrea Urda-Thompson for the Democratic nod to fill a partial-term seat on the Pittsfield Township Board of Trustees.

Brown-Harrison picked up 944 votes, representing 70.71 percent of voters who cast ballots in the race, and Urda-Thompson pulled in 389 votes, or 29.14 percent.

Brown-Harrison, who currently serves as a Pittsfield Township park commissioner, has worked as a communications advisor in the state senate, a television news writer and editor for various Detroit metro-area stations, and a teacher.

Urda-Thompson, 51, is a science teacher at Roberto Clemente in the Ann Arbor school district. She previously served as a township trustee for four years, one year as a planning commissioner and four years on the historical commission.
