Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Ann Arbor this morning

By Lee Higgins

A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint this morning by four men near the intersection of Burlingame Court and Champagne Drive, Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said.

The delivery man dropped off an order at someone's house and was confronted by four men when he returned to his car at 12:25 a.m., Bush said.

Two of the men put guns in his face and demanded money, Bush said. After the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, the men left the area in a black or dark green Chrysler Sebring convertible, police said.

The two men with guns were described as black, 17-20 years old, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, and about 150 pounds. Police did not have detailed descriptions of the other two men.

Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information can call the police department's tip line at (734) 794-6939.

@Chuck, I've been trying to get across to everyone, sometimes money and/or things are not the primary goal of the criminal. As with rape, where "sex" is the conduit to victimization sometimes what a robber really wants is that sense of power over someone and anything else taken is merely bonus or trophy. Would that this story ended more happily as with the many others that can be found by googleing "pizza delivery defense." Be safe out there, 1*

well one way to help then would be to pay via credit card over the phone when you place the order. If the parlors only took cc's the deliveryman wouldn't be carrying any cash right?

The Ann Arbor Police may want to contact the Washtenaw County Police dept on this to compare notes, etc. Suspects fitting this same description robbed a young man and his girlfriend in the parking lot of Kettering Elementary school on Knowles last night as he walked her back to her car. The police were called and the officers responding stated that suspects meeting the same description all the way down to the car was reported as robbing a pizza delivery man in the Villas near Leforge. Apparently, they did not just stop at 2 robberies for the night!
