Two Ypsilanti residents are in serious condition after a Tuesday night traffic accident on M-14 in Ann Arbor, state police said.
The victims, a man and woman, were passengers in the vehicle. The driver, a Livonia man, was uninjured.
Michigan State Police were dispatched to M-14 near Barton Drive for the accident at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night. Detective Sgt. Angela Hunt said there was only the one car involved and that alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
The man and woman were pinned in and required extrication, said Joyce Williams of Huron Valley Ambulance.
The pair were transported to U-M Hospital. The two were in unstable condition, Williams said.
State police shut down M-14 for two hours to investigate the accident Tuesday night. An investigation of how the accident transpired continued Wednesday morning.
No other information was immediately available. This story will be updated.

Hi JC: The state police told me it was a single motor vehicle accident. Huron Valley Ambulance did confirm they were dispatched to two separate accidents at that location however. This morning (Thursday), the state police said they had nothing more to release on the accident, so I'm unsure how exactly either accident occurred. We will release information from state police as it becomes available.

Why does this article say only one vehicle was involved when you can clearly see a red Honda Civic in a wider view of the same picture in the previous article?

What information at all is available on the driver? Was a field sobriety test done? BAC test? Anything?

The Chevrolet in the photo looks about as "extricated" as it can stand.

OR we could ban driving from everyone else while accepting that there's nothing that can be done to prevent people from doing dumb things. Since the alcohol ban didn't work out and no one seems interested in trying that again, I guess that's the only choice left.

Deflecting by saying the same thing when you already been corrected and NOT addressing the reply? That's logical.

That's not MY logic, that's gun advocate's logic. Glad you could confirm it is ILLOGICAL. Of course the answer to a problem is not more of that problem.....

WRONG! The answer we would advocate is to have the other non drinking and good drivers to stop the drunk before he hurts anyone. Police obviously can't be there to catch them all. What would YOU do if you saw a car swerving all over? Your logic would leave only drunks driving.

Or maybe the answer is more drunk drivers if you go with gun advocates logic......

That guardrail isn't hard to see either...it gets replaced so often it's always nice and shiny. Maybe DOT needs to put up a couple flashing warning lights up for that exit.
