Police alert residents of daytime burglaries in Northfield, Salem townships

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Police are warning residents in Northfield and Salem townships about a series of daytime burglaries in the area.

Northfield Township police said today they took a report of a home invasion in the 5200 block of Earhart Road while the resident was at work.

Police say the burglar is apparently dropped off in a neighborhood, commits the break-in and is then picked up at a different location by a getaway driver.

Similar incidents have occurred in Salem Township and are being investigated by the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department, reports said.

No information was available on how many break-ins have occurred.

Residents are reminded to watch out and report suspicious individuals, vehicles and activity. Anyone with information on the break-ins can call the Northfield Police Department at 734-449-9911.
