Portion of Zeeb Road closed starting Wednesday for railroad crossing repairs

By Lisa Allmendinger

Zeeb Road between Peters Road and Huron River Drive is expected to be closed starting Wednesday for maintenance by Norfolk Southern Railway at the railroad crossing.

Weather permitting, the work will begin Wednesday morning and is expected to last for two days.

The road will be closed to all traffic and the posted detour is Dexter-Ann Arbor Road to the Village of Dexter truck route to Mast Road to Joy Road.

This temporary road closure will remain in effect from the morning of Aug. 24, through Friday evening.

However, the Washtenaw County Road Commission advises that because of weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

Glad to see the Road Commission is leaving us with two railroad crossings between those that are being worked on. But I expect the one near River Pines Drive to be closed next, for there are new railroad ties there, waiting to be put in. I don't know how much of a priority East Delhi's railroad crossing is, since it's a dirt road.

Well I hope they do a better job than they did in dexter. Central street at the RR tracks, now is just about impassable with the shoddy way they "repaired" the crossing. It used to be smooth crossing, now it reminds me of a tank trap Absured, shoddy work Broad street crossing is no better. Good luck all you zeeb rd crossing drivers
