Chelsea High School held its 2011 graduation ceremonies Sunday, June 5 in the gymnasium. The class had 232 graduates.

Emma Leah Argiroff

Parents: Philip Argiroff and Elizabeth Henry

Activities and Awards: Emma received the Southeastern Conference All-Academic Scholar Award. She was voted Outstanding Junior in English as well as Outstanding Freshman, Sophomore and Junior in Art. Emma was a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club and the Chelsea High School Interact Club and belonged to the Venture Scouts group.

Plans after graduation: Emma plans to attend the University of Michigan - College of Literature, Science and Arts and School of Art and Design, where she will pursue her degree in science and fine arts.

Cara Craig Bloom

Parents: David and Diane Bloom

Activities and Awards: Cara received the Presidential Scholarship and the A.J. Drexel Scholarship. She was the recipient of the Academic Letter all four years. Cara was a member of the National Honor Society, the Chelsea Theater Guild and played on the Equestrian Team.

Plans after graduation: Cara plans to attend the University of Michigan to study informatics.

Hailey Maree Dixon

Parents: Raymond and Kristen Rickman

Activities and Awards: Hailey was a two-year Academic Letter recipient. She was a member of the National Honor Society and played women's varsity soccer while at Chelsea High School.

Plans after graduation: Hailey plans to attend Western Michigan University. She has not yet decided her area of study.

Jacqueline Rose Dotts

Parents: Raymond and Julie Dotts

Activities and Awards: Jacqueline has received the Albion College Presidential Scholarship. She was a member of the National Honor Society and a Link Crew leader member.

Plans after graduation: Jacqueline plans to attend Albion College where will study communications.

Booke Suzanne Gier

Parents: Michael and Tammy Gier

Activities and Awards: Brooke was selected as Outstanding Student in social studies in both her sophomore and junior year. She received the Southeastern Conference All-Academic Scholar Award. Brooke was involved in student council and served as secretary of the senior class. She was a Link Crew leader, a member of the Key Club and secretary of the National Honor Society.

Plans after graduation: Brooke plans to attend Wellesley College to study political science and international relations.

Joseph Michael Haroney

Parents: Nicolas Haroney and Jennifer Haroney

Activities and Awards: Joseph received the prestigious Western Michigan University Medallion Scholarship and the Eastern Michigan University Presidential Scholarship. He was awarded the Southeastern Conference All-Academic Scholar Award. Joseph was a member of the Chelsea House Orchestra and was treasurer of the National Honor Society. He also served on the St. Mary Youth Community.

Plans after graduation: Joseph plans to attend Western Michigan University to pursue a degree in education.

Martin Turner Harris

Parents: Brett and Lynn Harris

Activities and Awards: Martin was selected as a National Merit Finalist. He received the University of Michigan Regents Scholarship. He was a member of the 2011 Economics Challenge Team that took second place and was a two-time Michigan Math Prize semi-finalist. He was a member of the National Honor Society where he served as vice president and a member of the Science Olympiad. He was also a member of the cross country team.

Plans after graduation: Martin plans to attend the University of Michigan or the University of Minnesota to pursue a degree in engineering.

Andrew David Johnson

Parents: Scott and Tamra Johnson

Activities and Awards: Andrew was a member of Student Council and the National Honor Society. He participated in boys’ tennis and was a Link Crew Leader at Chelsea High School.

Plans after graduation: Andrew plans to attend Michigan State University, where he will study supply chain management.

Anna Grace Rode

Parents: Christopher Rode and Dr. Paula Rode

Activities and Awards: Anna has received the Outstanding Freshman Award and Athletic Scholarship for Womens’ Soccer from Indiana University-Purdue University. While at Chelsea High School, Anna played varsity girls’ soccer. She was a member of the Physics Club and the National Honor Society.

Plans after graduation: Anna plans to attend Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis to study engineering.

Emily Jane Shrosbree

Parents: Jane Shrosbree and the late William Shrosbree

Activities and Awards: Emily received the University of Michigan Regents Merit Scholarship. She also received the Southeastern Conference All-Academic Award, was chosen as an MHSAA Scholar Athlete and was awarded Girls’ Golf Academic All-State. Emily was a Link Crew member, served on student council and was a member of both the National Honor Society and Physics Club.

Plans after graduation: Emily plans to attend the University of Michigan, where she will major in pre-med.

Ellie Nan Stoffer

Parents: Ron Stoffer and Tracie Stoffer

Activities and Awards: Ellie is a Commended National Merit Scholar, received a Michigan State athletic scholarship and was nominated for The Detroit Free Press Scholar Athlete. She was selected by Comcast for the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship and received Academic All-State recognition. Ellie was class president of student council all four years and a member of the National Honor Society. She played both varsity volleyball and softball while at CHS.

Plans after graduation: Ellie plans to attend Michigan State University to pursue a degree in nursing.
