Power outage still affects about 300 DTE customers in Washtenaw, Livingston counties
About 300 DTE Energy customers in Washtenaw and Livingston counties remain without power following heavy thunderstorms Saturday afternoon that brought lightning, high winds and heavy rainfall.
DTE spokesman Alejandro Bodipo-Memba said the utility expects to have all those customers back online by the end of business hours today.
The power outage continues to affect about 120 customers in the Whitmore Lake area, according to the DTE power outage map. Around 200 customers are also without power in the Brighton area.
About 8,000 DTE customers throughout the utility’s service area in southeast Michigan, Bodipo-Memba said.

DTE needs to be investigated. The mild thunderstorm a week or so ago that knocked out just 300 people on the West Side took 15 hours to fix. When we have a big storm or a blizzard, people will be without power for weeks. DTE is not spending enough on being ready and able to restore power.
