Public will have chance to mix with Ann Arbor's elected officials at Labor Day picnic

By Ryan J. Stanton

The Ann Arbor City Democratic Party is hosting its annual Labor Day Picnic today at the James Crawford Elks Lodge, 220 Sunset Road.

Invited elected officials include U.S. Rep. John Dingell, state Sen. Rebekah Warren, state Rep. Jeff Irwin, Ann Arbor Mayor John Hieftje, Ann Arbor City Council members and Ann Arbor’s members of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners.

Vicki Dischler and Friends and Sean Ike will provide music. In between acts, DJ Brian Tomsic, DJ Cataclysmic, DJ Pat Teff, and DJ Ben will spin discs.

The event runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Seniors and students pay $7. Children ages 9 and younger are free.

Dinner includes smoked barbecue ribs, chicken, cat fish and veggie burgers. Guests may bring a salad, side dish or dessert.

Free soft drinks and a cash bar will be available.

Hey Ryan, do any Ann Arbor City Council members or County Commissioners belong to unions?

"Children ages 9 and younger are free." That's not necessarily true. Society will pay a steep price for your children's exposure to the moonbats and their flawed ideals at this event.

It says that they are invited, but have they RSVP'd? Are they expected to pay the $10? Will they continue just listening to each other? Is this a $10 fundraiser? These politicos are also invited to my place from 3 to 7 (as are the U of M footballers, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, and Buddha) for potluck.

Why do people waste time posting... Of course it meant bar. If you don't want to support don't go.
