Purse snatching on Pearl Street under investigation, Ypsilanti police say
Ypsilanti police are investigating a purse snatching this morning on Pearl Street, an Eastern Michigan University crime alert said.
Two women were walking west on Pearl Street near North Adams Street at 12:30 a.m. when two men approached, police said.
One of the men stole a purse from one of the women after grabbing her wrist, police said. No one was injured.
The men were described as black, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds, the alert said. One had a crew cut and was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans, police said. The other was wearing a red shirt.
