Rain, cold, maybe snow will follow warm Tuesday in Ann Arbor
Mother Nature is blessing the Ann Arbor area with a warm and sunny day Tuesday. Better enjoy it. More rain, cold and maybe even a bit of snow will follow closely on its heels.

That’s right. Snow. Don’t be alarmed. The National Weather Service assures us that even though the calendar says April, snow this late in the season is not out of the norm.
“We’re all tired of it,” said Deb Elliott, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in White Lake Township, “but it isn’t unusual.” Snow flurries can even fall in May, she said.
Before we get to the rain and cold and snow, though, we can enjoy a Tuesday high of about 72 degrees. It will be windy, however, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Rain will move in Tuesday night with occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm. New rainfall of a half to three-quarters of an inch is expected. The low will be around 35.
Wednesday, we could get a thunderstorm before 9 a.m. The chance for showers will linger until about noon. The high will be near 46, and windy conditions will continue, with gusts up to 26 mph. Wednesday night, the low will dip to 32 degrees with winds continuing to gust up to 22 mph.
More rain is likley Thursday, and it may mix with some snow showers before 2 p.m. A high near 45 is expected. Breezy conditions will continue, with gusts as high as 31 mph. New snow accumulation will amount to less than half an inch, forecasters said.
Sunny skies are expected to return Friday with a high of 56 degrees.
